And with the national and international picture being as it is, I want to put that experience to use to help guide businesses through the complexities that public policy can bring, so senior leaders can get on and run their business.

Andrew is an accomplished politician who has worked at the highest levels of Government, receiving a CBE in 2023 for political and public service. 

 

An insurance broker by background, Andrew spent four years as a Local Government Councillor in Greater Manchester before his election to the House of Commons in 2010. During his 14 years service at a national level, Andrew had seven years’ continuous service as a Government Minister in a range of departments (Business, Cabinet Office, Foreign Office, Health, Housing and Transport).
 
His experience includes attending regular audiences with Queen Elizabeth the Second at Buckingham Palace, managing the UK’s relationship with 48 sub-Saharan African countries, responsibility for multi-billion pound budgets, and regularly representing the UK government domestically and internationally, including working with the metro-mayors and devolved nations, G7 Ministers, COP, WHO and UN.
 
Until July 2024 as a Health Minister and Lead Minister for research and life sciences, he sat on the Life Sciences Council, and chaired four sub-groups which brought senior industry together with Government and NHS representatives. As a Transport Minister Andrew was responsible for the largest construction project in Europe, High Speed 2 (HS2), the £96 Billion Integrated Rail Plan, the Transpennine Route Upgrade and skills. And as the Business and Industry Minister he was responsible for the automotive, aerospace, construction, nuclear, rail supply and steel sectors.
 
As an MP and as a Minister Andrew has delivered significant policy change and is used to guiding business on how to navigate and influence the UK political system. In an uncertain and volatile world Andrew is someone who has been 'in the room' with the last five UK Prime Ministers and can give unparalleled insights to manage business risks and make the most of new opportunities.
